HEALTHY SNACKS & LUNCHES

Healthy Snacks and Lunches

In the Nursery and Reception classes, we provide our children with a daily healthy snack and we ask families to support this by paying £1.00 per week. Year 1 and upwards are required to bring their own healthy snack to school for break. However, both Year 1 and Year 2 receive a free carton of milk during snack time.

Pupils are encouraged to bring healthy snacks to school.  As we are a healthy school we ask that no chocolates, sweets, or crisps are eaten during break times. Fizzy drinks are also not permitted. Research has shown that children’s concentration is improved if they drink water regularly. Therefore, we encourage pupils to bring bottles to school so that they can fill the bottles or drink from our water fountain on a regular basis.

The NHS has created a website including healthier lunchbox recipes. They are quick and easy to make and your children will never be bored with the choices.
